Iranian Researchers Make Visualization Possible by Using Wi-Fi Network Data
“The purpose of this system is monitoring the environment and assessment of its data by using available data of the Wi-Fi,” said Mohammad Hadi Kefayati, a student of Amirkabir University of Technology and the manager of the project.
“Application of this method improves the monitoring conditions of the environment in which people are present and people's privacy by replacing the model instead of the video camera, and fixes the video camera defects in emergency situations like the absence of a light source or the existence of smoke in the environment,” he added.
Kefayati noted that results of the research can be used directly in telecommunications industry, and health and surveillance systems.
“The much higher quality of the output images compared to the traditional methods of visualization, improvement of people's privacy compared to surveillance methods based on video images, and fewer limitations and shortcomings for use in emergency situations compared to surveillance methods based on video cameras are among the competitive advantages of the project,” he underlined.
In a relevant development in August, an Iranian knowledge-based company active in the field of communication and information technology had also succeeded in providing a home-made security software that shows great resistance to cyber attacks.
“Our company is active in the field of information technology infrastructure development, and provides tools for creating and launching organizational portals, secure electronic services, cloud computing services, accessibility (WCAG), and e-government consulting services for organizations and companies,” Zahra Ahmadi, a manager of the knowledge-based company, told ANA.
She pointed out that both products of the company, i.e. organizational portals and cloud space, are knowledge-based, adding, “These two products are at the highest level of quality in terms of security and currently we have over a thousand customers across the country.”
“Stable speed, high security and advanced capabilities are among the unique features of the organizational portal and electronic service systems of our knowledge-based company, which are at present used in banks, Payam Nour University, Iran National Standards Organization (INSO), etc.,” Ahmadi said.
