Iranian Firm Uses Nanoparticles to Produce Anti-Corrosion Paint
‘Kimia Qom’ company has made the polymer paint with nanoparticles, through which some operational features and anti-corrosion properties are enhanced.
The addition of nanoparticles to the polymer matrix has led to better corrosion resistance, ease of use and stronger adhesion to the substrate.
The paint can be used in building structures, steel structures in the oil, gas, and petrochemical industries, bridges, power stations and factories.
Earlier this year, a nanotechnology firm in Iran had also manufactured a special shielding paint which can be used to reduce the impacts of high-frequency radiations and low frequency electric fields.
‘FERMA High-tech Engineering Co. Ltd’ company has produced the water-based paint modified by nanoparticles which enjoys a strong electromagnetic shielding property. It possesses a low density (1.22 g cm3) and can be completely dried within a day.
The application of nanoparticles in the new paint has led to a remarkable reduction in intensity of electromagnetic fields within the range of 8-12 GHz.
The special product can be used for painting the walls of residential buildings and places with sensitive electrical, electronic, and telecommunication fields.
