Iran’s Trade Balance in Caspian Sea Turns Positive
Jahanbani referred to regular sea voyages to transport cargo from Iran's Anzali port to Russia, and said, “For the first time, the transportation balance in the Caspian Sea Shipping Company has turned positive and the amount of exports has exceeded imports.”
“Thanks to the continuous efforts of the Caspian Sea Shipping Fleet and in line with the economic policies of the 13th government and the plans of the Trade Development Organization of Iran, the transportation balance in this shipping company has turned positive and the amount of exports has increased compared to the imports,” he added.
Jahanbani said that itineraries of the Caspian Sea shipping vessels were regulated based on imports, adding that now all the itineraries of the Caspian Sea shipping fleet have become export-oriented.
“Now the maritime transport in the Caspian Sea has become smooth and we no longer see the accumulation of goods in the Northern ports of the country in the field of trade, specially exports to Russia,” he underlined.
Head of Iran’s Trade Promotion Organization (TPO) had announced in September that the country’s trade balance with Russia had turned positive.
“The volume of trade between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the countries of the Eurasian region, specially Russia, has grown significantly,” Alireza Peymanpak said.
