Iran Unveils 10 Home-Made Technological Products of Marine Industry
The ceremony was held on the sidelines of the exhibition of capabilities and technological products of the marine industry in the Iran House of Innovation and Technology stationed at Tehran’s international fairground.
The 10 unveiled products include sediment indicator, automatic coastal identification system to increase safety and prevent vessels’ collision at sea, online sea shipping services, dual-purpose subsurface system for inspection and monitoring of oil, gas and internet transmission pipelines in a depth of 40 meters, ‘Artemis’ probe robot for routing and detecting objects, inflatable lifeguard system, scent monitoring system, and smart and integrated sea emergency response system used for sea rescue and pulling the shipwreck out of water.
Iran has made good progress in developing systems and equipment related to navigation and shipping industry.
In a relevant development last year, a knowledge-based company in Iran succeeded in designing and producing qualified rescue equipment, suspension systems and military and civilian life jackets indigenously.
“Rescue systems are divided into two categories; one is individual rescue and the other is used for group rescue. These life jackets are used to save tourists and even lifeguards, allowing the lifeguard to save a large number of people at once,” Arash Rahmani, the managing director of the knowledge-based Arash Shatin company which produces marine equipment, told ANA.
He described the light weight and small dimensions of his company’s products (lifejackets and inflatables) as the special advantage that makes them different and distinguished among other models, saying that these products can be used in ships and airplanes for many passengers.
“Our company has made possible rescuing of sinking ships and the recovery of sunken products for the first time in Iran,” Rahmani said.
