“Our company is a producer of anti-dandruff and anti-hair loss herbal shampoos which are marketed under the Herdouk brand,” Assadi, the managing director of the knowledge-based company, told ANA.

“In general, our research and development department, after conducting research and using the reference books of Iranian traditional medicine professors, has been able to produce four different herbal products. One of the most prominent products is a new shampoo which consists of 40 herbs and is used for all types of hair. Also, we have produced seven herbs shampoo for normal hair, lavender shampoo for dry hair and Aloe vera shampoo for oily hair,” the technologist added.

Assadi noted that herbal essences are used in the shampoos produced by other companies “but we use herbal plants’ extracts in our shampoos”.

“Therefore, 95% of ingredients of our products are completely plant-based in a way that based on the analysis of active product testing, less than 5% of chemicals are used in their formulation,” the managing director of the knowledge-based company said.

In a relevant development late last year, an Iranian health expert unveiled a hair regrowth serum domestically produced using local ginseng.

Arya Pourhassan, the managing-director of Fanavari Salamat Abadis Arsam Company, said that “byusing Iranian ginseng, we have produced a hair serum that reduces hair loss”.

Ginseng encourages hair growth by stimulating blood flow to the scalp. It also improves the health of hair follicles and cells, thus preventing hair loss.

Severe hair loss is one of the side effects of coronavirus disease, Pourhassan said, adding, “So, we decided to produce a hair serum that affects hair follicles, reduces hair loss, and strengthens hair.”

“Thanks to the capacities for local production, we combined a series of plants endemic to Sistan and Balouchestan province, especially around the city of Zahedan,” he added.

Referring to the fact that the main plant used in this hair serum is a type of ginseng that grows in Iran, he said that the Iranian ginseng is found around Zahedan city.
