“We made this station in the form of hybrid in Iran. It is capable of charging electric cars with both solar energy and municipal electricity,” said Mehdi Ayati, the managing director of the knowledge-based company.

He added that one of the advantages of these types of stations is shortening the charging time of electric cars.

Ayati noted that the product does not have a foreign counterpart, saying, “We can take orders from foreign states to export the stations.”

Different hybrid, electric, and solar car prototypes designed and manufactured by researchers at the Islamic Azad University, Qazvin branch, were displayed at Asreh Omid Event, which was held in Tehran’s Grand Mosalla in late May 2022.

The car research center of the university was established in 2010, Mohammad Mehdi Kheirikhah, a faculty member of the university told ANA.

The first product is an electric motorcycle that was designed and built in 2014, he said, adding that designing, assembling, and testing the product were carried out completely by professors and students in the university.

The motorcycle has a maximum speed of 180 km per hour and can cover a distance of about 250 km with a single charge, he noted.

The product aims to help reduce environmental pollution in cities. It also aims to transfer the technology of making electric motorcycles.

Referring to the second product, he said, “The second product is a hybrid car. Gasoline engines were converted into hybrid engines operating with gasoline and electricity. Thus, it reduces the consumption of gasoline by 30 percent and curbs environmental pollution.”

The third product is a solar car. This car works with the energy of the sun without any need for electricity or gasoline.
