In this project, researchers from the faculty of Aerospace Engineering of Sharif University of Technology designed an automatic control system to simultaneously manage the temperature of the battery, the cabin and components of the propulsion system of Tara electric car.

“We considered various scenarios caused by changes in environmental or system conditions to design optimal control mechanisms used to determine the appropriate amounts of system inputs, including compressor commands, electric pumps, fans, heaters, and expansion valves,” said Afshin Benazadeh, one of the researchers.

He added that the designed structure was successfully implemented after designing the control system and carrying out related simulations and tested first on the test table and then on the semi-industrial sample of the Tara electric car.

A senior Iranian official had earlier announced the country’s plans to use home-made electric vehicles, including Tara, for public transportation.

“Given the design and manufacturing of the sample of electric cars made by Jetco (Tara Electric Car) ) and the Research and Innovation Center of Saipa Group (Saina Electric and Aria Electric cars) and the improvement of the scientific and technical capacity of these companies as well as the production of high-tech parts by the Iranian knowledge-based companies, the country is ready for production and industrialization of these cars,” said Seyed Shahriar Zeini, the director of the new automotive technologies development group of the headquarters for the development of space technologies and advanced transportation of the Iranian vice-presidency for science, technology and knowledge-based economy.

He added that thanks to the continued follow-ups of the automotive group and cooperation of the advisor to the interior minister, a memorandum of understanding was inked for using electric cars by the Taxi Driving Union of the interior ministry to upgrade and equip public transportation with electric taxis.

According to Zeini, the head of the Taxi Driving Union has also announced his readiness to implement a contract in this regard and purchase these taxis.
