Iran's E-Commerce Experiences 25 Percent Growth in One Year
"In the Sixth Development Plan, an average of 7.5 percent growth of e-commerce had been determined for the Iranian past year (March 21, 2021-March 21, 2022) but various indicators that have been observed in the field of e-commerce showed that the minimum growth of the indicators was 15 percent growth and the maximum growth was 45 percent. This means that we had been witnessing an average growth of 25 percent in the macro indicators of e-commerce in the country, which bodes very good future for the industry," said Amin Kolahdozan, the head of Iran Center for E-Commerce Development.
He further pointed to unveiling "E-Namad", which is an Electronic Trust Symbol, provided to virtual businesses by Iran Center for E-Commerce Development, adding, "Basically, it makes users more confident in using the chosen site."
In the meantime, Director of the monitoring unit of Iran Center for E-Commerce Development Faranak Abulmasoum said, "Regarding infrastructure sector of electronic commerce during past Iranian year, the Internet penetration rate reached 127.2 percent, which is higher than the Asian and global average. Also, the penetration rate of social networks was 56 percent and the number of social network users was estimated at 48 million people in the same period of time."
