Iran Patent Office Supports Int’l Patenting of 3 Turbine Inventions
TUGA is the main designer and manufacturer of all types of gas turbines, steam turbines, centrifugal compressors and industrial gearboxes in Iran.
It has so far supplied 320 units of turbines and compressors to the Iranian and foreign projects.
Iran Patent Office, as a supporter of technologists and knowledge-based companies, has so far completed the process of patenting three inventions for TUGA company in the foreign patent offices under the subjects of ‘a method for modifying the aerodynamic response of axial turbine blade structures’, ‘gas turbine combustion chamber liner’ and ‘a method for adjusting pressure fluctuations of combustion chamber’.
The ability to manufacture turbines of high efficiency power plants (Class F) was created in Iran by acquiring the technical know-how of this type of turbine.
The CEO of the Iranian Gas Engineering and Development Company said in October that Moscow and Tehran had reached an agreement under which the Islamic Republic would export 40 locally made gas turbines to Russia.
Iran is currently capable of producing "85% of the equipment needed in the gas business" on its own, Reza Noushadi said.
