China unveils high-tech factory for humanoid robots

(Tehran Ana)- China has launched a high-tech humanoid robot factory that combines robotic assembly, autonomous logistics and automated quality-control systems to accelerate production.

The company announced on WeChat that the facility, located in Liuzhou in southern China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, is the first factory of its kind to use robots to manufacture humanoid robots.

The high-tech facility uses robots to assemble humanoid robots, while other robotic systems handle component transportation, loading and unloading.

The factory can produce a new robot in just 10 minutes, while each completed unit undergoes more than four hours of rigorous testing.

Among the most widely produced humanoid robots assembled at the UBTECH Robotics facility are the Cruzr and Walker S models. The industrial facility covers 14,000 square meters.

"Robots making robots" production model

The factory uses an advanced manufacturing model in which humanoid robots also participate in the production process rather than relying solely on human workers.

Robots such as the Cruzr Y1 and Cruzr S2 handle tasks including material unloading and stacking, component loading and transportation. Final assembly lines also use collaborative robots, robotic assistance arms, autonomous logistics vehicles and 360-degree rotating worktables to ensure accurate assembly from multiple angles.

Production capacity and speed

Production: The factory's annual production capacity exceeds 10,000 humanoid robots.

Speed: Its modular design enables the production of one robot every 10 minutes.

Flexibility: The facility supports flexible mixed production of multiple models on the same production line, eliminating the need for complex changes when a new design is introduced.

Testing and quality control

Each assembled robot undergoes continuous testing for more than four hours, covering its complete electromechanical systems.

It then passes through an automotive-standard optical inspection tunnel, where its exterior is examined through a 360-degree inspection with no blind spots.

The factory also has a complete tracking system for every robot through a unique serial number linking suppliers, production batches, assembly data and testing records.

Technology partnership

The factory was developed through a partnership between UBTECH Robotics and Siemens Digital Industries Software, providing an integrated digital operations management system described as the factory's "smart brain."

The system manages work-order scheduling, material distribution, quality control and warehouse operations.

Warehouse and logistics

UBTECH Robotics has also developed the first automated three-dimensional warehouse specifically designed for humanoid robots.

Although the warehouse covers only 65 square meters, it can store 112 robots, improving space utilization by more than 50%.

The factory also operates a fleet of autonomous guided vehicles, self-driving forklifts and logistics vehicles that connect the various stages of assembly, testing and storage.
