Iran's National Physics Olympiad team achieved notable success at the 56th International Physics Olympiad (IPhO), held in Bucaramanga, Colombia, from July 4 to 12, 2026, by winning a total of five medals.

Hirbod Foudazi, Kian Zarabian, and Mohammad Mirmohammadi each received gold medals, while Nima Koushki and Amirsam Goharpay were awarded silver medals.

The 2026 edition of the prestigious competition brought together more than 400 students representing over 90 countries, making it one of the world's largest international science contests for high school students.

The strong performance by the Iranian team highlighted the country's continued success in international scientific competitions and reflected the high academic standard of its young physics talents.
