Iran’s Export to Africa Rises 39 Percent in 8 Months
Deputy Head of the Iran-Africa Merchants Club Rouhollah Latifi said that the trade volume between Iran and Africa stood at over $1.5 billion in the past 8 months.
He added Iran and Africa exchanged over 1.9 million tons of commodities worth over $1.5 billion during the period.
The volume indicated a 10.5 percent rise in terms of tonnage and a 39 percent growth in terms of value, Latifi said.
1.844,601 tons of Iranian goods worth of $990,569,000 were exported to 38 African states during that period, he added, noting it shows a 9 percent increase in weight and a 36 percent surge in value.
Head of the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPOI) Alireza Peymanpak announced in April that Iran's exports of non-oil products to South Africa was considerably increased during the last Iranian year (ended March 20, 2022).
"Iran's non-oil exports registered a 500-percent growth during last Iranian year (March 21, 2021-March 20, 2022) registered a 500-percent," Peymanpak said.
He reiterated that Iran's exports to South Africa last year showed a considerable growth as compared to its previous year's corresponding period.
Peymanpak put the value of Iran's export of products to South Africa at $48 billion for last year while the country imported $53 billion worth of products from South Africa.
