Iranian Knowledge-Based Construction Companies Ready to Hit Africa's Markets
The Center for International Science and Technology Interactions of the Iranian Vice-Presidency for Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy plans to send a delegation of Iranian knowledge-based companies active in the field of construction to Kenya with the aim of conducting a field survey of the Kenyan construction market, visiting Nairobi’s construction showrooms, visiting the Iranian construction showroom in Nairobi and visiting Iran's House of Innovation and Technology in Kenya (IHIT).
Cooperation of knowledge-based companies in this event will have several advantages, including meeting with the Iranian ambassador to Kenya, meeting the businesspersons who are members of the Kenya Chamber of Commerce (KNCCI), participating in face-to-face business meetings with construction industry activists, holding educational workshops to learn about the legal, tax and commercial laws of Kenya.
Iran enjoys political relations with 47 out of 54 African countries; a continent with a very large export capacity which is nearly untouched by Iran's exporters. East Africa is the closest region in Africa to Iran and therefore, it is considered a suitable market for Iran's exports after the neighboring countries.
In East Africa, an economic bloc has been formed with participation of six countries of Kenya, Congo, Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania and Sudan, and entering this market can have many advantages for Iran.
Dispatching knowledge-based companies to Kenya can also pave the ground for the Iranian technological products to enter the lucrative market of this region.
