“One of the products of this company is the ointment for removing heel spurs which is made from the gum extract of commiphora wightii plant,” said Babak Ezzati Ranjbar, the managing-director of the knowledge-based company.
He described commiphora wightii as a native tree of India, and said, “Its gum looks like ketira and we used the extract of the gum of the tree to prepare the ointment.”
“The extract enjoys anti-inflammatory properties and the anti-inflammatory substances of the ointment can be absorbed through the skin and it soothes the inflamed tissue of the heel after absorption,” Ezzati Ranjbar said.
He noted that his company has produced 18 products based on medicinal plants.
Commiphora wightii is a flowering plant in the family Burseraceae, which produces a fragrant resin called gugal. The species is native to Southern Pakistan and Western India.
It prefers arid and semi-arid climates and is tolerant of poor soil.
