Egyptian Foreign Minister and IAEA Chief Discuss Iran Nuclear Issue and Regional Tensions

TEHRAN (ANA)- Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry held a phone call with IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi to discuss the latest developments on Iran’s nuclear file and the urgent need for regional restraint and diplomacy.

During the call, the two officials exchanged views on recent developments regarding Iran’s nuclear program and explored ways to ease the current regional tensions. Both emphasized the importance of restraint and dialogue to prevent escalation.

Shoukry briefed Grossi on Egypt’s extensive diplomatic contacts over the past week aimed at facilitating the resumption of nuclear talks between Iran and the United States—talks seen as key to resolving outstanding nuclear issues.

The Egyptian foreign minister highlighted the importance of continuing both regional and international efforts to reduce tensions and promote diplomatic and political solutions. He affirmed that Egypt will maintain persistent engagement and coordination to support security and stability across the region.
