The company produces and supplies nanoparticles, specially on a laboratory scale, to researchers and students working in the fields of environment, chemistry and wastewater treatment.

“The nanoparticles we produce can remove mineral pollutants, dyes and toxins from solutions and are therefore used in industrial wastewater treatment,” Reyhaneh Kouchakinejad, a technical expert at the company, said on the sidelines of the 16th International Nanotechnology Exhibition in Tehran.

“At present, these materials are mainly used for research and student theses, but there is also the potential to enter the industrial market,” she added.

Kouchakinejad noted that the company is consulting with various industries, including oil extraction industries and other industries with problematic wastewater, to use nanoparticles in the industrial phase, adding, “If these collaborations are successful, nanotechnology could have a real impact on industrial purification and environmental protection.”

“Types of magnetic nanoparticles produced in the laboratory include: magnetic iron oxide nanoparticles (FeO MNPs), silica-coated magnetic iron oxide nanoparticles (FeO@SiO MNPs), carbon nanotube magnetic nanocomposite (FeO@CNT MNC), and mesoporous magnetic silicate nanocomposites SBA-15 and KIT-6, in pure or functionalized form. These nanoparticles enjoy a high capability to adsorb pollutants and can be used in laboratory and industrial applications for water and wastewater treatment,” she stated.

The 16th International Nano Technology Exhibition and the First Exhibition of Advanced Technologies of Iran was inaugurated at the Tehran International Fairground.

Held from November 2 to 5, the Nano Exhibition featured over 150 innovative companies showcasing advancements in nanotechnology. Meanwhile, the Exhibition of Advanced Technologies hosted 80 knowledge-based and technological products, attracting visitors, particularly students, researchers, and investors.
