Iran's Foreign Trade Experiences 10% Growth in 8 Months
"Out of the country's total foreign trade, 37.116 billion dollars have been allocated to imports and 32.368 billion dollars to exports," Spokesman of Iranian Customs Office (IRICA) Morteza Emadi said.
"During the period, the value of non-oil exports increased by 4.4% and the value of imports increased by 15.25%," he added.
"During the 8 months, non-oil exports were over 70 million tons and imports were more than 23 million tons," Emadi said.
He added that China, Iraq, the UAE, Turkey and India were the main destinations of Iran's exports.
IRICA’s data showed last month that the country continued to export increased volumes of commodities and products to other countries in October.
It added that Iran’s non-oil exports reached a total of $28.406 billion in the seven months to October 22, up by 5.6% compared with the same period last year.
The figures showed that the total weight of Iranian export shipments had amounted to 61.283 million metric tons (mt) over March-October, a decline of 18.2% year on year.
Oil products and metals accounted for a bulk of exports from Iran in the seven months to late October.
