The mechatronics department of the IAU, Qazvin branch, has built a robot that has 20 degrees of freedom and the way it walks and interacts is very similar to a real human.

Omid Sojoodi, who represented the expert group at the Asreh Omid Event, told ANA that among the applications of this robot is teaching and helping children or elderly people with MS or Alzheimer's patients to teach them so that they can recover.

Sojoodi added that it can also be used in advertising agencies, banks, and large stores for guiding customers and doing advertisements.

In the areas of security and military, the robot is also being used as a soldier robot. In the future, robots can enter human life and do hard work, or work in a polluted environment.

The main advantage of these robots compared to commercial and foreign examples is their indigenized knowledge, he said, adding that both in terms of mechanical and electrical design, and most importantly artificial intelligence, they are made domestically.

Thanks to artificial intelligence, the robots have also the ability to see and recognize objects and people, and even locate and can announce their location.

“We are negotiating for several projects that can involve many people and generate employment. We are in talks with companies inside and outside the country to sell the robot,” Sojoodi concluded.

Asreh Omid Event, which was held in Tehran's Mosalla from May 29 to June 1, 2022, aimed to exhibit new achievements and products in the technological and innovation arenas.

Some 3,000 knowledge-based companies, laboratories, research centers, and startups took part in Asreh Omid Event.
