Over 2.2 Million Jobs Created in Brazil in 11 Months
This represents a 16.6 percent increase from a year ago, when 1.906 million formal jobs were created, according to the report by the Ministry of Labor and Employment.
By the end of November, Brazil had 47.7 million formal jobs, up by 3.9 percent year on year. In November alone, 106,625 formal jobs were created, down by 12.1 percent from a year ago, when 121,366 formal jobs were created.
By sector, commerce and services sectors recorded growth in formal job creation, while construction, industry, and agriculture sectors registered losses.
According to a report by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics, the unemployment rate fell to 6.1 percent among the economically active population, the lowest level since record began in the first quarter of 2012.
