India’s Exports Dip 17% to $29.78bln in October

TEHRAN (ANA)- India's exports contracted by 16.65 percent to $29.78 billion in October 2022 as compared to the same period last year, according to data released by the commerce ministry.

Imports during the month under review increased to $56.69 billion as against $53.64 billion in October 2021, the PTI reported.

During April-October 2022, exports recorded a growth of 12.55 per cent to $263.35 billion. Imports rose 33.12 percent to $436.81 billion, as per the data.

According to the preliminary data, the merchandise exports contracted by 3.5 percent in September to $32.62 billion. However, the final data released on October 14 showed a growth of about 5 per cent to $35.45 billion.

Some variations in export growth rate figures were seen in the previous months as well.

For example, preliminary data released on September 3 showed a decline of 1.15 percent to $33 billion for exports in August. It was revised to 1.62 percent at $33.92 billion on September 14.

Similarly, the commerce ministry's preliminary data showed a dip of 0.76 percent to $35.24 billion for exports in July, which was revised to 2.14 percent growth at $36.27 billion.
