Iranian Firm Produces Probiotic Cookies to Prevent Diabetics, High Blood Pressure
“Our company is health-oriented, and one of its products is called a probiotic cookie. Of course, we have also produced a soft drink that does not have the side effects of existing soft drinks,” Mohammad Salaminia, the managing director of the company stationed at the incubator center of Islamic Azad University’s Sabzevar branch, told ANA.
Noting that the probiotic cookie product has been patented, he said, “Our target audience is all people. In addition, diabetics, blood pressure patients, and other patients can use the probiotic products manufactured by our company.”
“By placing beneficial bacteria in the probiotic cookie which requires special technology, we microencapsulate the bacteria in the laboratory, cook it at high temperature, and then make it available to the public. In this way, the bacteria we have lost are re-established in the intestines and prevent diseases like diabetes, high blood pressure, and cancer,” Saliminia said.
In a relevant development last year, a knowledge-based pharmaceutical company in Iran had for the first time succeeded in producing probiotic medicine for children that have no side effects and children do not resist its consumption.
Sahar Bahmani, the managing director of the knowledge-based company, described the firm as the first company active in the field of producing probiotic medicine in Iran.
“In addition to this category of drugs that do not have the side effects of chemical drugs, our firm, with the help of another knowledge-based company, has been producing food supplement products that are mostly related to children,” she said.
“The distinguishing feature of the company's activity is that we produce some oral drugs, like Neurobion, that most companies make it in the form of ampoule,” Bahmani added.
“Two samples of probiotic drugs that are always very popular are children's pain reliever syrup and iron drops. The syrup produced in our company does not have any side effects for children, and the produced iron drops do not cause children's teeth to turn black,” she said.
