Iranian Firm Develops Laser Technology for Road, Dam Construction Machinery
This innovative achievement has created a remarkable transformation in the country's road construction industry and has improved the accuracy and quality of asphalt paving operations to an unprecedented level.
“This new technology is designed to increase the accuracy and quality of asphalt paving operations in construction projects. The system uses a laser beam to create an accurate reference line for the machine,” said Afshin Navvabi, the managing director of the knowledge-based company.
“The laser sensor and controller system automatically adjusts the machine's movements to this reference line by measuring the machine's deviation from the laser beam and applying control signals to the servo-hydraulic section,” he added.
“Making a large-scale laser sensor is one of the most prominent features of this product. These sensors are designed to be resistant to outdoor optical and environmental disturbances, and the control algorithms for the servo hydraulics have been developed to provide better performance,” Navvabi said.
In a relevant development in November, Iranian specialists at a knowledge-based company had also succeeded in indigenizing a 20-kW fiber laser source capable of welding hard laser work at a high speed and precision with a very high output power.
Among the achievements of the knowledge-based Iranian company are manufacturing of femtosecond lasers, modular lasers up to 6 kW power, engraving lasers up to 150 W power, single module lasers of over 2 KW power, robotic welding lasers up to 6 kW power, machine laser welding up to 4 kW power, manual laser welding machine up to 2 kW, and lasers for cleaning and removing surface fats, etc.
The 20-kW fiber laser is known as one of the most powerful industrial lasers used in various industries. These lasers with very high output power are capable of laser hard welding etc. with high speed and precision.
Due to their high power, these lasers are used in various industries, like steel, metal industries, automobile manufacturing, shipbuilding, medical equipment manufacturing, and the production of electronic components, etc.
