“Expanded Polypropylene foam is used in several fields. One of its most important applications is related to automobile manufacturing, which is used as a bumper inside the car. Also, due to the increased amount of material, it is also used as a tool holder in the trunk and the bottom of the trunk,” Esmayeel Nouri, the managing director of the knowledge-based company, told ANA.

Noting that the very light material was imported to Iran from East Asian countries like South Korea and China and Germany, he said, “Now, with the production of this material, the expensive cost of transportation has been completely eliminated. At present, this material is produced in Iran at half the price of the foreign sample and with the same quality.”

“Due to its acoustic and insulating properties, this material is also used in the construction industry; it is used for places where there is underfloor heating to protect the elements of the building floor. Also, this product is used to insulate pipes and expensive equipment,” Nouri said.

Expanded polypropylene (EPP) is a recyclable closed-cell moulded foam with an impressive set of properties that you would struggle to find in another material. After expansion EPP beads are fused into simple blocks for CNC prototyping or moulded into complicated shapes inside a steam chest.
