Iran in Cooperation with China, Russia in Microelectronics Field
“Given the good scientific capacities of Iran in the field of microelectronics, we have started interactions, specially with China and Russia,” Ahmadvand said.
“We have a market in the field of microelectronics, but our dependence on foreign countries is high, and in this field, we are trying to develop the subsystems,” he added.
Ahmadvand also referred to the development of application of sensors in the oil and gas industries, and said, “Interactions with other countries for the exchange of technologies are among our other plans, and therefore, we participated in the sixth meeting of the BRICS countries for the first time and had a strong presence, and our proposals were welcomed by the member states.”
Microelectronics is a subfield of electronics. As the name suggests, microelectronics relates to the study and manufacture (or microfabrication) of very small electronic designs and components.
Usually, but not always, this means micrometre-scale or smaller. These devices are typically made from semiconductor materials. Many components of a normal electronic design are available in a microelectronic equivalent. These include transistors, capacitors, inductors, resistors, diodes and (naturally) insulators and conductors can all be found in microelectronic devices.
Unique wiring techniques such as wire bonding are also often used in microelectronics because of the unusually small size of the components, leads and pads. This technique requires specialized equipment and is expensive.
