Iran Inaugurates Int’l Innovation Zone
Addressing the ceremony, Afshin said that opening the innovation zone was a big step which helps Iran to keep pace with the global technological advancement.
“If we hesitate in our movement forward, we will realize that we have suffered serious setbacks in a short period of time, and today those who think faster, move faster and create innovation faster are more successful,” he said.
Afshin underlined the role of small and medium-sized companies in the modern world where as he said the economic, technological, and innovation equations have undergone transformation, adding, “Successful and superior companies are not necessarily very large companies.”
Iran has about 17 million graduates and over 10,000 knowledge-based companies, but warned the country against basking in the glory of its literate and skilled human resources, he said, adding, “We cannot progress merely by relying on experts and elite human resources, as we have to try harder and move faster.”
Afshin also stressed the high capacity of Pardis Science and Technology Park, saying that it can facilitate the efforts leading to globalization.
The country needs more investment and support in order to compete with the world, he stated.
