Iran Records 22% Increase in Exports of Agricultural Products in 1st 4 Months
“A total of 22 million tons of agricultural products worth $1.2 billion have been exported by the country, which compared to the figures of the same period last year, weight of which was 18 million tons valued at $895 million, there was 22% in weight and 32% in value,” IRICA announced on its website.
According to the IRICA figures, the major exported crops and agricultural products included pistachios and pistachio nuts worth $273 million, tomatoes worth $147 million, apples worth $108 million, watermelons worth $97 million, and potatoes worth $39 million.
In the first four months of this year, agricultural products accounted for about 5% of the total weight and 7% of the total value of the country's non-oil exports, further showed the IRICA statistics.
