Iran to Hold Exhibition on Medicinal Plants in Late May
The 11th edition of the National Congress on Medicinal Plants and the related exhibition will be hosted by the University of Yazd, in Yazd city in southeast Iran on May 29-30.
The main topics of the discussions at the Congress will be "Basic Sciences", "Agriculture and Natural Resources", "Pharmaceuticals, Medicine and Veterinary Medicine" and "Industry and Economy".
In the basic science section, the experts and panelists will discuss topics such as "botany", "phytochemistry", "biochemistry", "genetics", "biological effects" and "biotechnology."
In the agriculture and natural resources section, topics in fields of "ecology", "physiology", "domestication and improvement", "seed technology" and primary processing after harvest, as well as topics in the field of pharmaceuticals, issues in areas such as "traditional medicine", "pharmacological effects" and "formulation and control" will be discussed.
"Production of medicinal plant products", "Innovation in the production of practical products", "Quality system and production of quality products" and "Technology transfer and production of herbal products" are among the topics that are planned to be discussed in the industry and economy section of the congress.
Holding an exhibition of the achievements made in Iran in the field of medicinal plants is one of the programs during the congress.
