“We have presented the achievements of the fuel cell membrane and we have registered 3 patents so far in the United States,” said Mostafa Torkashvand, one of the researchers of a technological company based in the Innovation Center of Amirkabir University of Technology in Tehran.

Polymer electrolyte membrane (PEM) fuel cells, also called proton exchange membrane fuel cells, use a proton-conducting polymer membrane as the electrolyte.

Stating that the supplied fuel cell is capable of producing one kilowatt hour of energy, he reminded, “One of the major problems of the world's industries is energy supply, and with this achievement, a step has be taken in the field of clean and renewable energy supplies.”

Torkashvand pointed to the chemical raw materials as another achievement of the company, saying, “These chemical raw materials include salts that are used in the field of catalysts and also for use in lithium batteries.”

“Lithium batteries consist of anode, separator, and cathode, and in the cathode section, we produced various materials that industries can have obtain within the country,” he added.

“This company is also a producer of cathode raw materials for lithium batteries, and we provide services to industries that operate in this field,” he further declared.

The researcher went on to point to providing research services in the field of anodes and the whole cell of lithium batteries among other fields of activity of their company, adding, "lithium and cobalt salts, which are produced at a high purity, are in the commercialization stage.”
