Iran-Made Nano-Based Products Reduce Wear in Tires, Fuel Consumption in Vehicles
Sharif Nano Pars is an Iranian knowledge-based company which has used spherical nanoparticles with a thickness of 30-50 nm to produce car tire and dashboard polisher and cleaner with anti-dust property, high gloss and protection, and the capability to prevent tire wear and cracking.
Kavir Tire is another Iranian company which has produced ‘Green Tire’ by reducing the thickness of the innermost layer of the tire with nanoclay which decreases air molecule permeability, weight, and fuel consumption, and increases the tire life.
Fadak nanostructured silica is another product made by an Iranian nanotechnology firm which uses silica 15-35-nm nano powder applied as a reinforcement and wire adhesion agent to the tire compound.
Also, Khavaran Nanoparmin is another Iranian firm which produces lay nanoparticles developed in tires that improve the distribution of nanoparticles on sheets of clay and the tire-making process.
Barez industrial group is another company which produces nano silica that increase the quality and decreases price of tires and can be used in all types of radial, riding, agricultural and pneumatic tires.
In a relevant development in December, an Iranian knowledge-based firm active in nanotechnology field had also produced special nano materials which can improve the quality of car tires.
“A number of our nanotechnology products include nano zinc oxide, nano copper oxide, nano calcium carbonate and the family of graphene materials and some of them are used in research and laboratory, and others are used in rubber and tire manufacturing industries and hydrogen sulfide gas absorbent catalyst. Also, these nano materials are used in paint, polymer and textile industries as antibacterial additives,” Reza Roghanizadegan, the founder and a member of the company’s board of directors, told ANA.
He described nano zinc oxide as the most prominent product of his company, saying, “This widely-used product, in addition to application in industry and laboratories, can also be used in other fields, including the animal and poultry feed, chemical fertilizers, and cosmetic and health products.”
