Iran’s Tire Industry Boasting Indigenized Technology
download all picturesTEHRAN (ANA)- The tire industry is a major part of the global economy with its sheer size of around $230 billion annually which gives it a prominent importance and a strategic value.
Due to its large-scale market and strategic importance, the tire industry has been under the spotlight by the Iranian manufacturers and policy makers. Accordingly, Iran is now one of the biggest tire makers in West Asia.
Iranians have managed to indigenize the technology and increase the capacity to produce raw material in order to secure a self-sufficient tire industry.
Before the indigenization of the tire industry, Iranians used to import bronze plated bead wires and tire cord fabrics for manufacturing. However, Iranians are now using home research and technology to meet their technical needs.
