“Phase 13 has set a record in production of high-quality sulfur in South Pars and is the only refinery that has implemented the strict sulfur standard in South Pars,” Pahlavan said.

He added that the phase 13 has also broken the record of sulfur extraction.

Noting that all the sulfur produced in the phase 13 can be exported, Pahlavan said, “The team active in the phase 13 has also transferred their know-how to the phase 14.”

He stated that based on the latest reports of the National Iranian Gas Company, Iran has moved forward at the pace of Qatar in gas production and extraction from the reservoir.

South Pars is currently divided into 24 standard phases on the Iranian side and is estimated to contain a significant amount of natural gas, accounting for about eight percent of the world’s reserves, and approximately 18 billion barrels of condensate.

The mentioned gas field covers an area of 9,700 square kilometers, 3,700 square kilometers of which, called South Pars, are in Iran’s territorial waters. The remaining 6,000 square kilometers, called North Dome, are situated in Qatar’s territorial waters.
