Clear Orthodontics Braces Produced by Iranian Specialists
“Clear orthodontics braces consist of engineered layers to control the movements of the patient's teeth. In old fixed orthodontics, the patient should visit the doctor every month and check the jaw and teeth movements with the existing wires,” Fatemeh Mohammadi, an expert and founder of the startup team, told ANA.
“But in clear braces, due to the existence of visco-elastic sheets (jaw movement controlling layers), there is no need for the patient to visit the dentist monthly and weekly,” she added.
Mohammadi explained that the clear braces reduce gum swelling, inflammation, pain and frequent visits to the dentist, adding, “Overall, these clear orthodontics braces decrease the length of treatment for the patient.”
She described remote treatment as another feature of this product, saying that only by installing a web application on the doctor's mobile phone, all the patient's information is recorded after the first visit and the patient can also follow the entire treatment process through this application remotely.
In a relevant development in November, Iranian experts at a knowledge-based company had also managed to indigenize a laser device special for dentistry.
“Our company has recently designed and produced a dental laser device which has 3 different wavelengths, including 808 nm, 975 nm and 1,064 nm,” Maryam Raad, a medical equipment expert at the knowledge-based Pars Parto Emertat company, told ANA.
She noted that the device can start with the powers of milliwatt and increase to 13 watts, adding, “It is also equipped with the third wavelength of 1,064.”
“This product is used for cosmetic, surgical and therapeutic purposes in dentistry, for instance, for cutting soft tissue for the gums, for implant placement, disinfection of the nerve canal, gum lift for beauty purposes and to remove mouth sores,” Raad said.
