Iranian Scientist Wins IFIA Award for Inventing Device for Magnetic Descaling of Fluid
The invention, titled ‘the device and method of magnetic descaling of the fluid of thermal facilities’, was developed by Amir Hossein Shahabadi, a civil engineering student at Islamic Azad University’s Sciences and Research branch in Tehran.
“Although the general application of this invention is in building facilities, it has been designed with the aim of removing suspended particles that cause sedimentation,” Shahabadi told ANA.
“This invention can also be used by changing the filter to separate liquid or suspended particles in the fluid in laboratory or semi-industrial and industrial samples in production lines,” he added.
“This pump is also used in closed systems for hot and cold fluid circulation, including hot and cold water circulation in thermal and refrigeration systems, like sanitary hot water circulation, etc., and it also provides fluid pressure for open systems like providing water pressure in homes,” Shahabadi said.
Noting that this invention has many benefits in terms of increasing efficiency, reducing sediment absorption, better fluid flow control and reducing damage and easy repair, he said, “Using the magnetic and electromagnetic properties of electric coils and fixed and moving magnetic cores causes higher orientation of magnesium and calcium ions and a significant increase in efficiency.”
In a relevant development in September, a researcher at the Islamic Azad University's Boueen Zahra Branch had also won a gold medal at the third International Invention and Innovation Competition for International Federation of Inventors’ Association (IFIA) INV Members virtually held in Geneva, Switzerland, for his knowledge-based irrigation product.
Mehdi Moharrampour, the director of the Islamic Azad University (IAU)- Boueen Zahra Branch’s Growth Center was awarded a gold medal at the third International Invention and Innovation Competition for International Federation of Inventors’ Association (IFIA) INV Members virtually held in Geneva, Switzerland, from 20 to 22 August 2023 for the INV members.
Moharrampour participated in the annual competition with his subsurface irrigation product (Fixed Discharge-Rate drip Irrigation Emitter Anti-Clogging Device).
As many as 1,500 inventors who are members of the International Federation of Inventors’ Association (IFIA) INV competed in the online event.
