Technological Company in Iran Makes Motion Sensors to Detect Thieves
“Motion sensors produced by our company enjoy the capability to detect possible intruders or thieves inside the house or workplace and warn people if they enter prohibited areas,” Reza Fazli, the managing director of the company stationed at the incubator center of Islamic Azad University’s Ilkhchi branch, told ANA.
“This product is one of the four products of our company which is an electronic device and a sensor for detecting people or nearby objects,” he added.
“The motion sensor is an important part of any security system. When a sensor detects motion, it sends an alert to your security system and, in the newer systems, directly to your cell phone,” Fazli said.
Noting that motion sensors are commonly used to detect a nearby potential intruder inside the house or office, he explained that the restricted area in the house might even be the basement or the parking lot.
In a relevant development in September, a group of Iranian engineers at a knowledge-based company had produced optical fiber-based sensors which can monitor railroads and energy transmission lines and control traffic at the borders by showing the person's position on the map.
“This project was carried out with the aim of indigenizing one of the newest and most state-of-the-art technologies in the world which is the development of optical fiber sensors,” said Mohammad Hossein Maleki, the project manager of the knowledge-based company.
“In this project, we converted fiber optics into a sensor and we analyzed the data obtained from this sensor by using artificial intelligence,” he added.
Maleki stated that these fiber optic sensors have wide applications, and added, “One of the applications of this sensor is in the borders. Monitoring of energy transmission pipelines, power lines and railways can be carried out with this sensor since they are able to monitor attempts to steal and the breakdowns of trains and rails and the speed of trains.”
