Iran Capable to Become Self-Sufficient in Producing Gelatin
Peyman Aryaei, the Manager of Parmida Gelatin Company of Mazandaran in the Northern part of Iran told ANA on the sidelines of Asreh Omid Event that “if the necessary fund is received, this company will be able to make the country self-sufficient in producing gelatin from fish waste needed by the country's pharmaceutical industry.”
He added that another Iranian company located in Qazvin city produces gelatin from skin of cow, while stressing that in the case the necessary investment gets to their company in Mazandaran, it will able to make the country self-sufficient in producing gelatin from waste fish.
Aryaei noted that the gelatin they produce costs half of the price one has to pay for the parallels imported from abroad.
“Another product of Mazandaran Parmida Gelatin Company is probiotic juice powder that is used in different industries such as pharmaceutical and food industries and sports supplements,” he further told ANA, adding, “In addition to the fact that this powder can give juice, we can also use its probiotic characteristics and it has high antioxidant properties that can be used as a pigment in changing the color of the ice creams.”
The managing director of Parmida Gelatin Company further said that his company is sponsored by the Islamic Azad University’s Amol branch in Mazandaran Province, hailing the Asreh Omid Event as a great move that helped the country to defeat the sanctions.
The national Asreh Omid Event was held in late May in Tehran’s Grand Mosalla with the participation of 3,000 knowledge-based companies, laboratories, research teams and startups.
