Transit of Goods via Iran Grows 22 Percent in 7 Months
According to a report by the Iranian Ministry of Roads and Urban Development, more than 7,917,000 tons of goods were transited from Iran in the first seven months of the current Iranian calendar year, showing a 22% growth compared to the same period in the previous year.
Also, the transit of oil and non-oil goods has increased by 34.1% and 17.5% compared to the first seven months of last year with 2, 387,000 tons and 5, 530,013 tons, respectively.
The share of road transport is nearly 90% and is equal to 7,121,013 tons, and the share of rail transport is 796,000 tons, which has decreased by 5.5% compared to 841,654 tons in the first 7 months of last year. In the road sector, a growth of 25.76% compared to the same period of the previous year has been recorded.
Also, the transit of oil and non-oil goods via Iran from March 21 to October 22, 2023 registered a 34.12 and 17.49 percent hike, respectively, compared to the same period last year.
Also, in August, the Iranian Ministry of Roads and Urban Development had announced that a total of 4,006,500 tons of non-oil and oil goods have been transited through Iran until the end of July this year which has increased performance of the road and rail sectors in the country to 33%.
The statistical comparison of transit performance in July of this year with the same period last year and previous years indicates the growing trend of this index.
The total non-oil and oil transit performance of the road and rail sectors in July, 2003, reached 1,066,500 tons which shows a 33% increase compared to July, 2023, with nearly 801,300 tons of transit.
