INIC: Iran Exported $69 Worth of Nano Products Last Year
Speaking in a press conference at INIC headquarters in Tehran, Emad Ahmadvand gave a report over the nano industry in Iran over the past year.
“The nano market has witnessed an upward trend in the past years. The largest share of nano products is related to construction, followed by automobiles, oil and petrochemicals, and household necessities. If we divide the products based on technology, it becomes clear that more than 57% of the products are based on nanocoating technology, followed by nanocatalysts. The best-selling nano products last year were sanitary faucets, catalysts in the oil and gas field, and types of construction tiles,” the NIC secretary said.
“In 1401 (March 21, 2022 - March 21, 2023), about $69 million worth of Iranian nano products were exported to different countries of the world. The reason for the decrease in the amount of exports of companies producing nano products in 2018 and 2019 was the oppressive sanctions and rial price versus dollar fluctuations,” Ahmadvand added.
“Iranian nano products are exported to 48 countries. Iraq, Afghanistan and Russia respectively have the highest imports of Iranian nano products. Sanitary faucets, optical and electronic products and different types of construction tiles have accounted for the biggest share in Iranian nanoproducts exports,” he added.
He went on to note that the development of production of anti-cancer nanomedicines saved the country %90 million. Nanocoating technology also has a very high impact on the market situation of the construction industry. The total sales volume of the nano coating market between 2018 and 2022 was equal to 36.8 trillion Tomans, the official also pointed out.
Iran ranks fourth in the world in terms of the number of scientific articles in the field of nanotechnology, Ahmadvand added.
