Peru Accumulates 2.1 Percent Inflation in Q1
TEHRAN (ANA)- Peru's cumulative inflation rose to 2.1 percent in the first quarter of 2023 after the national Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased by 1.19 percent in March, the National Institute of Statistics and Information (INEI) reported.
The INEI said the CPI increase was mainly due to the "higher than national average growth" in the education (4.76 percent) and food and non-alcoholic beverages (2.32 percent) sectors.
During March, the CPI increased in 20 cities, with the highest rise in the northern city of Piura (2.59 percent), followed by Trujillo (2.39 percent), Chiclayo (2.31 percent), and Cajamarca (2.23 percent).
