Iran-Made Locating Device to Improve Safety, Productivity in Mining Industry
Aidin Zamanian, the managing director of the Iranian knowledge-bases company of Arvand Zaman Exir Haftwad which is working on the artificial intelligence in mining industry, told ANA on the sidelines of “Asr-e Omid Sirjan Exhibition” that the company is using different forms of artificial intelligence to improve productivity and efficiency in different mines and industries.
Regarding "RTK" GPS device as the new invention of his company, Zamanian said that one of the major problems for those people who work in mines and other industries was lack of ability to show their accurate locations.
"RTK, as an advanced GPS gadget, can help the mentioned people to know and show their accurate geographical location with the least margin,” he said, adding, “The ordinary GPS devices with margins of about 5 to 10 meters are not only as accurate as RTK, but also they are not safe and efficient enough for some industries.”
Zamanian further underscored that accuracy of RTK is much higher than the previous devices with a margin of about only 5-10 centimeters.
“Using land stations with specific locations, RTK gets the satellite signals and transmits the video signals to show accurate location,” he went on to say.
The inventor added that the newly-invented device is quite useful to improve the efficiency and productivity of digging machines in mines and industries as it can be easily installed on these kinds of machines and equipment.
Asr-e Omid (Age of Hope) exhibition was held on the campus of Islamic Azad University-Sirjan branch in the city of Sirjan located in the Southeastern Kerman Province on May 22-June 1, 2023.
