“Despite the significant growth of exports in 1401 (March 21, 2022- March 20, 2023), this industry (medical equipment industry) could export about $30 million worth of goods,“ the deputy industry minister said.

He said that the ministry is resolved to support the increase in production of medical equipment in order to increase exports.

“Supporting the development of the export of high quality and competitive products made in Iran to other markets is one of the main priorities of this Ministry,” Mousavi underscored further.

Pointing to the large presence of capable and knowledge-based companies in the exhibition, he added that there is a significant capability and potential in the field of designing, manufacturing and supplying medical equipment in the country.

“Considering the remarkable activity of the knowledge-based private sector in this industry, the approach of this ministry is to support the development of the export of high quality and competitive products made in Iran to other markets,” he reiterated.

“More than 95% of hospital stuff and operating room equipment with the complexity of the third and fourth level of technology are produced in Iran, and during the recent visit of the president to Indonesia, a memorandum of understanding for the supply of medical equipment for 12 hospitals in that country was signed by the executive authorities of the two countries,” the report concluded.
