According to Iran Nanotechnology Innovation Council (INIC), a technological company active in production of coatings and new building materials has received the nanoscale certificate for production of a water-based solution that creates a super-hydrophobic coating on bricks, a two-component solution which contains nanoparticles and creates a water-repellent coating on stone, a solution that contains nanoparticles and creates a super water-repellent coating on wood and a solution that creates hydrophobic coating on the facade brick.

The use of nano-hydrophobic brick and stone in a project in Kerman, nano-hydrophobic tiles and ceramics in a hotel in Tehran, waterproof sealant paint in a project in Shiraz, facade paint and nano-insulation in a construction project in Mashhad, and nano-hydrophobic glass and composite in a project in Tehran are a few number of projects implemented by using the nanotechnology products of the company.

The mechanical properties and reasonable price of bricks have led to their widespread use in construction industry.

Iran has made great achievements in nanotechnology.

Earlier this year, researchers at an Iranian company active in nanotechnology field produced and commercialized special paints that can reduce energy consumption in buildings.

Researchers at Atlas Poushesh Mohafez Company which is active in nanotechnology field produced and then commercialized special paints that can narrow down energy consumption in various buildings.

Nano thermal insulations reduce energy consumption, protect the environment and bring significant savings in national resources by storing thermal energy in residential and industrial environments.

These insulating paints can control cold and heat and thus reduce energy consumption in different structures with different uses. In buildings, these paints can be used both in the exterior and interior. In the industrial field, specially in the oil and gas sector, these nano insulation paints can be used to reduce energy consumption in tanks and pipes.

Also, these thermal insulation paints are resistant to ultraviolet rays and have interesting feature, including quick drying and the possibility of being applied with different tools like brushes, sprays and rollers. They also enjoy self-repairing properties to meet the needs of upstream industries.

The technical, economic and strategic advantages of the product include reduction of energy consumption and modification of the consumption pattern, saving heating and cooling energy consumption, features like anti-damp, water-repellent and resistant to the penetration of rain and environmental humidity, the possibility of being used as a cover for the exterior and roof of the buildings, and high adhesion on various metal, plaster, wood, cement and concrete surfaces.
