Mohammadreza Hashemi, managing director of a knowledge-based company said that the multi-function transducer is designed and built based on the latest electronic technology, according to the public relations department of the Iranian Vice Presidency for Science and Technology.

“Transducers are converting tools that play an important role in industries. They convert one type of energy into another,” he said.

A transducer is a device that converts variations in a physical quantity, such as pressure or brightness, into an electrical signal, or vice versa.

He stated that there is no limit to the type of energy in the device made in this company, adding, "It coverts every electrical, chemical, mechanical and thermal formats. Transducer is one of the main equipment in industrial power automation systems, by which one can take samples from the parameters of the power grid and convert them into standard signals and use them at the input of measuring/calculating devices.”

Stating that the calculations of the electrical parameters in the transducer are done after being converted into a digital signal, Hashemi added, “These parameters are instantly stored in the system's memory and can be recalled or selected by the user through fully isolated digital-to-analog converters. applied to current or voltage analog outputs.”

According to the vice presidency’s report, the managing director of the company also said, “Calculating more than 120 electrical parameters of the power grid, the capability to calculate and monitor remotely, 2 kV isolation between all parts and having four fully isolated current and voltage analog outputs, are among the advantages of the online monitoring with transducer over similar devices.”

According to the researcher, purchasing the foreign sample of the multi-function transducer costs about 12 times more than the domestically produced device. He further noted that locally producing the device can save the country a lot of money, adding that “it is necessary to support knowledge-based companies in practice".
