Tehran to Host 12 Foreign Teams in 17th Iran Open RoboCup 2023

TEHRAN (ANA)- The international Iran Open RoboCup Competition will be held at Tehran Azad University, Science and Research Branch, with the participation of 12 teams from foreign universities and schools and hundreds of Iranian teams.

12 foreign teams from Germany, Russia, Brazil, China, Afghanistan and Egypt have registered in the 17th edition of the Iran Open RoboCup. These competitions will be held with participation of seven countries (the above-mentioned states plus Iran).

All teams have been assessed and refereed and 234 of them were technically approved and a total of 1,470 participants will attend the competition.

The 17th edition of Iran's Azad RoboCup international competition will be held in cooperation among the Young and Elite Researchers Club, the Iran National RoboCup Committee and the Science and Research Branch of Islamic Azad University on April 26-28, 2023.

RoboCup, or Robotics World Cup, is an international project to promote artificial intelligence, robotics, and mechatronics.

The World RoboCup Federation seeks to foster research on artificial intelligence and intelligent robots by designing a standard issue whose scope calls for all available technologies to participate and test.

RoboCup chose the game of football as the main focus of its research to create initiatives for fundamental social and industrial issues.

The ultimate goal of RoboCup is to form a fully intelligent team of humanoid robots so that it will win the World Cup in 2050 against the team entitled Champion.

in order to render the highest level of media servie during the 3-day event, a press conference of the 17th Iran Open RoboCup international tournament was held at ANA headquarter on Tuesday morning with the presence of Hamed Hassanpour, President of the Young and Elite Researchers Club of Islamic Azad University, Dawood Samari, the Executive Secretary of the 17th Iran Open RoboCup International Tournament, and Morteza Musakhani, the head of the 17th edition of the tournament.
