Iranian-Made Oil-Free Compressors Inaugurated at Bandar Abbas Refinery

Seyed Majid Ma’navi, the Managing Director of knowledge-based Ayandeh Nanotech Sanaei Holding (Future Industries Holding) said that they founded the company in 2018 with the aim of investing and commercializing products in the field of nanotechnology.

He added that they have focused the activity of their holding on tackling water shortages due to the severity of the issue in the country.

“The issue of water is considered as one of the axes of our activity due to the crises and widespread problems in the country,” Ma'navi said.

“Considering the capabilities of nanotechnology to solve this problem, we started investing in this area and sought producing a new generation of equipment based on nanotechnology that can be effective in solving water problems. Since reverse osmosis systems are expensive, in cooperation with the Aban Accelerator, we put on the agenda the development and production of several water purifying systems based on nanotechnology, and a prototype was made within six months,” he continued.

Emphasizing that the manufactured sample is ready for final tests, Ma’navi noted," This system has the ability to become a water purification package, especially in the Eastern and Southeastern regions of the country, where access to drinking water is limited.”

The managing director of the knowledge-based holding named coating and paint as another field of activity of the holding and added, “One of our plans is the production of thermal insulation. Due to the targeted energy prices in Iran and the increase in energy prices, such insulators can play an important role in reducing energy consumption. Therefore, nano thermal insulation was developed in one of the technological companies, and it has received a nano scale approval for it.”

According to him, their insulation can control temperature up to 5 to 10 degrees in structures.

He added that a heat-resistant nano-coating for use in casting molds was produced in a subsidiary company of the holding which is used in the production of car parts. The knowledge-based holding managing director also said they started negotiations with giant Iranian auto maker Saipa to assess the nano coating product to use it in manufacturing their cars to replace the imported similar products.

Ma’navi pointed to the development of oil-free compressor technology and said that the ordinary compressors that work with oil come with problems such as oil remaining in their exhaust, which causes many problems in critical industries such as oil and gas, pharmaceutical and food industries.

“Therefore, we invested in the design and development projects of oil-free compressors in partnership with a knowledge-based company and finally succeeded in making oil-free compressors,” he added.

According to him, one of their manufactured oil-free compressors has already been used in the Bandar Abbas refinery in the South of the country in Hormozgan province.

He emphasized that the presence of corrosive compounds such as sulfur in gas treating systems causes damage to compressors, while in the oil-free compressors, the use of nano coatings increases the durability of the machine in addition to creating the possibility of providing high swirl rate in volatile and corrosive working conditions.

Oil-free compressors are specially designed for applications where the purity of air compression is needed. An oil-free compressor refers only to the compression chamber, not the compressor system as a whole or the resulting compressed air quality.
