Iranian Researchers Improve Safety of Anaesthesia Machines
The main function of the anesthesia machine is to control the patient's breathing system during surgery, Fatemeh Norouzi, a member of the board of directors of the company, said.
She pointed out that during surgery, the device transfers oxygen and anesthetic gases needed to the patient and removes extra carbon dioxide.
The anesthesiologist always gives the dose of anesthetic drugs to the patient continuously so that the patient does not regain consciousness during the operation, Norouzi highlighted.
“Controlling such a situation is vital, so we designed this device,” she added.
The most common type of anesthesia machine which is used all over the world, has a price of nearly $18,000 but the domestically-made models are available at half the price of foreign models and have the same quality and capabilities, she explained.
Over 7,000 knowledge-based and 1,600 creative companies have so far been registered and started operations, according to the vice president’s office for science and technology.
The companies are mainly active in the fields of biotechnology, agriculture, food industries, chemical technologies aircraft maintenance, steel, gas, pharmaceuticals, medical equipment, medicine, oil, electronics, telecommunications, information technology, and computer software.
