Investors from Several World States to Participate in TIM2023 in Iran

TEHRAN (ANA)- Investors from Group D8 and other world countries are due to attend the TIM2023 startup event at Fardis Science and Technology Park in Iran in March.

“Four rounds of technology exchange events between D8 countries have been held so far,” Milad Sadr Khanlou, the secretary of the TIM2023 technology investment meeting, told reporters in a press conference.

He stated that the fifth edition of the event will be held at Pardis Science and Technology Park on March 6 and 7, adding that startup investors, growth centers, knowledge-based companies, universities, etc. will attend the event.

Sadr Khanlou said that the event aims to attract investment for the startups, noting that Islamic countries and members of the D8 Economic Cooperation Organization have participated in the technology investment event for four periods in the past.

“We tried to hold the TIM2023 differently with participation of other countries outside the D8 group and therefore, we can help eigth developing countries to make further progress in the fields of technology,” he said.

“105 knowledge-based companies, start-ups and technological firms from Iran, Turkey, Armenia, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Kenya and 52 investors and business delegations from Iran, Turkey, Armenia, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Syria, Afghanistan, Kenya and Guinea have registered for participation in the event so far,” Sadr Khanlou noted.

TIM is an international event on the D8tten Technology Transfer and Exchange Network (D8-TTEN), which is held annually with the aim of technology investment through eight member states (Malaysia, Indonesia, Iran, Pakistan, Egypt, Nigeria, Turkey and Bangladesh).

This event has already been held in 2017, 2020, 2021 and 2022.

The event has various plans including, introducing startups with the aim of attracting investors, specialized panels, workshop courses, signing memoranda of understanding and joint venture agreements, and visiting the technology centers of Iran by foreign delegations.
