Half of Iran’s Nanotechnology Market Allocated to Construction Field
Most of the activities of the nanotechnology companies is in the field of construction industry which consists nearly half of the country's nano-based products, and 96% of these products are sanitary faucets, tiles and reflex glass.
The auto-making and transportation industry ranks second, and nearly 75% of its nano products are in the field of nanocatalysts.
Approximately 12.5% of the oil and gas industry’s nano products are nano catalysts.
Meantime, the two areas of education and agriculture have a very small share (less than 0.1 percent) of Iran's nano market.
Also, the optoelectronics field has a high share of the Iranian nano products market with four companies active in this area.
Five best-selling nano-based devices of the Iranian market in the previous year also include cathode arc coating device, nano bubble maker device, freeze drying system, industrial electrospinning device and Raman microscope.
Iran currently ranks 4th in the world in production of nano-science. This comes as a part of Iran's Nanotechnology Initiative Council’s first development plan, which has sought to advance nano-science in the country.
The second 10-year plan, which started in 2015, seeks to move nano-science from paper to the industry. In the meantime, the Nanotechnology Initiative Council is working on a third plan to trade Iranian nano-products in the global market.
