“The exhibition of Lorestan's export capabilities with participation of 34 technological and knowledge-based companies and relevant incubator centers of Lorestan province will be held in Khorramabad in the presence of 37 businesspersons from the Northern provinces of Iraq,” Head of Lorestan Science and Technology Park Farhad Namdari said.

He added that the exhibition will be held on January 24-26.

Namdari said that the technological and knowledge-based companies that will present their products in the exhibition in the fields of agriculture, food industry, animal husbandry, fisheries, technical engineering and petrochemicals have reached the phase of mass-production of their products and enjoys the necessary export capabilities.

Volume of trade exchanges between Iran and Iraq is expected to reach $10 billion by the end of the current Persian calendar year (March 20), an official said.

Iran and Iraq have set a target of $20 billion in annual trade, and businessmen and authorities of both countries are determined to meet that target, Head of Iran-Iraq Joint Chamber of Commerce Yahya Al-e Es'haq said.

He added that the trade challenges between the two countries have been mostly resolved, noting that Iran and Iraq have had the experience of reaching $14 billion in annual trade in previous years.

The international trade recession and lower Iranian electricity and energy sales to Iraq were the main reasons for the decline in trade exchanges between Iran and Iraq, Al-e Es'haq explained.

He added that the ban on the export and import of certain goods according to the laws of the two countries has also been a major reason for the decrease in the trade volume.
