Mass Rallies Mark 47th Anniversary of Iran’s Islamic Revolution
Commemorations officially commenced at 9:30 a.m. local time, as participants carrying Iranian flags filled streets in a show of national solidarity. The anniversary coincides with February 11, the final day of the Ten-Day Dawn celebrations, which culminated in the سقوط of the former Shah and the victory of the Islamic Revolution in 1979.
This year’s main ceremony in Tehran is centered at Azadi Square, where President Masoud Pezeshkian is scheduled to deliver a keynote speech. The event is being covered by both domestic and international media outlets.
Officials announced that ceremonies are taking place in more than 1,400 districts, cities, and counties, in addition to over 40,000 villages nationwide. March routes across the country have been decorated with images honoring martyrs, including those associated with recent conflicts and unrest.
In the capital, 13 designated routes lead demonstrators toward Azadi Square, the focal point of the anniversary gatherings.
