Iran Extracts over 80% of Recoverable Gas from Nar Field
Mahmoud Mirbaqeri noted that the Nar gas field entered its second production phase in 2009 with the commissioning of a compression station, which has played a key role in sustaining output over the past six years, stressing the important role of gas compression stations in maintaining production from gas fields.
He noted that the field’s initial reserves were estimated at about 16 trillion cubic feet, of which roughly 7.5 trillion cubic feet were produced naturally during the first 20 years.
Since 2009, another 3.75 trillion cubic feet have been extracted with the help of the compression station, bringing total production to over 80% of the field’s recoverable gas, Mirbaqeri said.
Iran announced in July that it is due to increase its daily transmission capacity to one billion cubic meters by implementation of new pipeline projects.
With the aim of increasing gas transmission capacity to one billion cubic meters per day and strengthening the stability of the network in the country's central corridor, the implementation of the 56-inch pipeline from Pol-e-Kale to Tiran, approximately 50 kilometers long, has started in Iran which is a project that was implemented simultaneously with the class change of the 20-inch Tasouj to Urumiya line.
The project to construct the 56-inch pipeline of the tenth national gas line from Pol-e-Kale to Tiran (section one), approximately 50 kilometers long, began simultaneously with the class change of the 20-inch Tasouj to Urumiya line.
This project aims to increase the country's gas transmission capacity to one billion cubic meters per day and strengthen the stability of the network in the country's central corridor, and is being constructed by the Iranian Gas Engineering and Development Company with the advice of the Iranian Consulting Engineers for Industry and Management Company.
The construction of the 56-inch pipeline, approximately 50 kilometers long, the construction of a launcher station, two LBV stations, and the class change operation are part of the 20-inch Tasouj to Urumiya line.
